Biography

Dr Djeven Deva is the division head in Cardiothoracic Imaging at St. Michael’s Hospital in Toronto, the fellowship program director of the Cardiothoracic Imaging fellowship at St Michael’s, and an Assistant Professor in the Department of Medical Imaging at the University of Toronto.

He completed medical school in the University of Dublin, Trinity College, Ireland, after which he completed internship and 4 years of surgical training including 2 years in cardiothoracic surgery. He completed radiology residency in England, subspecializing in cardiac MRI during the final 3 years. He underwent cardiac and thoracic fellowship training at Toronto General Hospital during which he completed level III cardiac MRI and CT training.

He has over 17 years clinical cardiac MRI experience and has firsthand experience in building, developing and growing cardiac MRI and structural heart CT programs. He is an author on over 70 peer-reviewed journal articles in cardiothoracic imaging. He has won both St Michael’s and University of Toronto teaching awards and has lectured nationally on both cardiac and thoracic imaging.
