Toronto Radiology and the St. Michael’s Hospital Department of Medical Imaging is proud to celebrate the exceptional teaching contributions of our faculty members for the 2024-2025 academic year. As highlighted in the recent University of Toronto Medical Imaging Faculty Success Celebration, several of our radiologists were recognized for their dedication to education and mentorship across the University of Toronto’s Medical Imaging programs.

Excellence in Faculty Mentorship

Dr. Derek Muradali

Congratulations to Dr. Derek Muradali from our Breast Imaging Division on winning the Excellence in Faculty Mentorship Award, which recognizes a faculty member who has demonstrated dedication to mentoring others, helping colleagues not only advance in their professional paths, but also to navigate the challenges of academic and personal life with balance and integrity. Dr. Muradali’s incredible journey includes a 9 year tenure as Radiologist in Chief of the Ontario Breast Screening Program (OBSP) and as the previous Head of the Division of Breast Imaging, University of Toronto, for 20 years. He has authored multiple publications and book chapters on breast imaging and ultrasound, and has lectured extensively on those topics. His dedication to advancing the field of breast imaging in Canada and his commitment to education and helping colleagues, has ensured a lasting legacy.
